What types of coverings can I put on my specialty windows?
The best option for a specialty window is a shutter. They can be made into almost any shape and can keep the integrity and beauty that specialty shapes add to a room. Other options exist for arches such as cellular shades or fauxwood blinds.
What products do you recommend for energy efficiency?
Many manufacturers address energy efficiency in today’s window fashions. A product such as the shutter, which can completely block out light, can also reduce incoming heat or trap cool air in. Another, softer option is the cellular shade which can come in a one or two cell design in multiple sizes and opacities. The more cells you have and the stronger the opacity, i.e. blackout, then the more efficient the shade is.
What are the advantages of adding blinds to my windows instead of curtains?
Blinds offer control over how much lighting you allow into your space. In addition, blinds can allow light into your home while maintaining your privacy.
How do I prepare for adding/replacing window fashions in my home?
If you are replacing window fashions in your home, be sure to clear the area around the windows being serviced allowing for easy installation. A service representative will remove your previous blinds and install your new window fashions.
Do my Hunter Douglas window fashions have a warranty?
Yes, Hunter Douglas Inc. provides a Lifetime Guarantee with their products. Coverage for the guarantee includes: Internal mechanisms, components and brackets, fabric delamination and operational cords.
“Daniel Gomez was great. I have vinyl plantation shutters throughout my 2-story house, and had about 10 louvers with broken connectors to the tilt wand. I’d done some searching for repair kits, but because these shutters had no brand name and no serial numbers on them, and were about 10 years old, I was leery of ordering things online and trying to fix them myself. I shot Daniel an email, which he answered immediately. He told me this was a common and easily fixed problem–he even likely had the parts (he had me send him some photos to confirm). He set up a convenient appointment to do the repairs that very same week, was on time with all the correct parts, and fixed all the shutters in an hour. He is also personable, reasonably priced and very respectful–even put on paper booties before walking on the upstairs carpet and checked other shutters to make sure they weren’t on the verge of breaking. My shutters are like brand new. Thanks, Daniel!” – Thea
